7:00 am – I start my morning drive. Fortunately it is through Rock Creek Parkway so I can enjoy the leaves changing colors and also occasionally pay attention to the traffic in front of me. My commute takes me past the Pentagon, and I make it into the office a little bit before 8:00 am.
9:30 am –Acentia is in charge of procuring and installing furniture, IT equipment, VTC equipment, and the move for a Base Realignment and Closure project. We conduct a logistics planning meeting each week to discuss how to coordinate activities in the new building and to develop procedures. It is great to have a team of experts in the room. Each person brings their own perspective to the table.
2:15 pm – Someone stops by my office to demonstrate the new scanners which we received for our inventory process. We test the scanners on a bag of candy. It seems to work like a charm. The next step is to start scanning the equipment, which is beginning to arrive.
5:00 – One last meeting, but it is the most important one of the day. We are planning a baby shower for someone on the team. The baby shower is held the next day and goes off without a hitch! I can’t wait to meet the little one.
