Mario5:30 am – I begin my day with my BlackBerry giving me a subliminal message as the alarm plays “Down to Business.” I get up and abruptly lock eyes with a dog eager to head out for a morning jog. I mumble to myself as I stagger around in a daze looking for clothes to wear.

Mario7:00 am – I’m out the door and on the road heading to the office. I toggle between shock jock radio and NPR. Most mornings I settle for NPR. I attentively listen for one-liners that I can repurpose throughout the day. I often do a call with colleagues to discuss matters involving account management. Sometimes I take advantage of these calls by piloting my newly acquired, NPR provided one-liners.

Mario9:30 am – I kick off my day with the Program Coordinator. We bring each other up to speed on current office events and we then proceed to review the program schedule and budget. Once complete I meet with our sponsor to check in and provide him with a brief verbal status update before getting “Down to Business.”

Mario12:30pm - There’s a growing lunch trend in DC I refer to as the “Lunch Truck Movement.” I’ve noticed more and more food vendors opting to invest in cafes on wheels as opposed to traditional brick and mortars. The food is great, and patrons have a variety of options right outside of their doorsteps. Many members of the staff and I frequent “the trucks” and we’ve developed a food vendor regimen for each day of the week.
